Cracked screen and digitizer

iPad glass and the touch digitizer are one layer, and on the Air and Pro lines the display is laminated to that layer as well. That distinction is the whole price difference: on a non-laminated iPad we can often replace just the glass, while a laminated Pro needs the full display. We tell you which one you have before quoting rather than after.

Getting the old glass out cleanly is the part that takes skill. We use a vacuum laminator and a controlled freezing separator to lift panels without cracking the frame or nicking the digitizer cable that runs along the edge.

Battery replacement

An iPad that reaches 100 percent in an hour and drains overnight is telling you the cell is finished. Tablet batteries are large, glued across the full chassis, and sit directly against the logic board, so removal is slow work done with the right solvent rather than a pry tool. A tablet that has started to bow or will not sit flat on a table has a swelling battery and should stop being charged today.

Charging port repair

Tablet charge ports take more mechanical abuse than phone ports because of the leverage a big device puts on a cable. Many are soldered directly to the board, which is where our in-house micro-soldering matters. Shops without a soldering bench will send it out or decline it.

Buttons, cameras, and speakers

Home buttons on older iPads carry Touch ID, which is paired to the board and cannot be transferred, so we are straight with you about which functions survive a repair and which do not. Speaker grilles clog with dust and lint over years of use and often just need cleaning.

Deep clean and software

A tablet that runs hot, stutters, or takes forever to wake is frequently a software and dust problem rather than a hardware failure. Deep cleans are $50 for smartphones and tablets with a 1 to 3 business day turnaround. Virus removal is $50, and an OS restore is $50.

Water damage and board faults

Deep diagnostics are $25 to $50 for tablets. If the fault turns out to be on the logic board, board-level diagnostics run $50 to $150 with results in 3 to 7 business days, and the repair happens here rather than at a mail-in depot.
