What board-level repair actually means
Inside your phone, laptop, or console is a logic board carrying hundreds of components measured in fractions of a millimetre. A single failed capacitor, a corroded resistor, or a cracked solder joint under a power management chip will stop the whole device. Replacing the board costs most of what the device is worth. Replacing the failed component costs a fraction of it.
Doing that safely needs three things: a microscope, controlled heat that will not lift neighbouring parts, and someone trained to certified soldering standards. Our lead technician Umair Zia holds IPC J-STD-001 soldering and IPC-A-610 electronics assembly certifications alongside ETA CET and CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and Server+.
Component-level work we perform
HDMI port repair, $125
The most common board-level job we see. Ports on consoles and laptops are soldered directly to the board, so replacement means desoldering, cleaning the pads, and fitting a new port without lifting a trace.
FPC connector replacement
Flexible printed circuit connectors are the small sockets that screens, batteries, and cameras plug into. They tear off during careless repairs elsewhere, and a device that worked before someone else opened it often has exactly this fault. We fit a new connector rather than condemning the board.
Capacitors, resistors, and diodes
Passive components fail from liquid exposure, voltage spikes, and age. Finding the failed one is the actual skill, and it is what thermal imaging is for: a shorted component draws current and heats up, which shows on the infrared camera before it shows anywhere else.
IC replacement
Power management ICs, charging ICs, audio ICs, and backlight drivers can all be removed and replaced. This is the deepest end of the work and where the laser desoldering station and 4K microscope earn their keep.
Liquid damage board recovery
Corrosion spreads under chips where no amount of drying reaches. Proper recovery means ultrasonic cleaning, then tracing what the corrosion destroyed, then replacing it. A device that has been sitting in a drawer since the spill is still often recoverable.
