Game Console Repair in Broken Arrow

HDMI ports, stick drift, and overheating, repaired at component level

Console repair is where in-house micro-soldering stops being a technical detail and starts being the whole reason a repair is possible. Most shops in this area will not touch an HDMI port. We replace them for a flat $125.

Console repairs we handle

HDMI port replacement, $125

A console that powers on with no picture, or one that only displays when the cable is held at an angle, almost always has a damaged HDMI port rather than a dead console. The port is soldered directly to the mainboard, so replacing it means desoldering the old one, cleaning the pads, and fitting the new port under a microscope without lifting a trace. That is why the chains send it away or tell you to buy a new console. We do it here for $125.

Controller stick drift

Drift is a worn potentiometer inside the thumbstick module, which is why cleaning it with compressed air helps for a week and then stops helping. The module has to be desoldered and replaced. We repair DualSense, DualShock, Xbox controllers, and Joy-Cons.

Overheating and shutdowns

A console that gets loud, then hot, then shuts off mid-game has years of dust in the heatsink and thermal paste that has dried to powder. Console deep cleans are $100 with a 1 to 3 business day turnaround, and that covers a full teardown, heatsink clean, and fresh thermal compound. On a PS5 this is genuinely the difference between a jet-engine console and a quiet one.

Nintendo Switch

Switch repairs cluster around four faults: cracked screens, Joy-Con drift, charge ports damaged by docking, and units that will not charge at all. The charge port is board-mounted, so it is micro-soldering work, and we handle it in house.

Disc drives

A drive that grinds, refuses to eject, or will not read discs is usually a worn laser or a slipped belt rather than a dead console. On PS5 the disc drive is paired to the board, which affects what is possible in a swap, and we explain that up front instead of after the fact.

Liquid damage and no-power faults

Board-level diagnostics for consoles run $50 to $150 depending on time and difficulty, with results in 3 to 7 business days. Deep diagnostics are $75 to $100. If the fault is a shorted capacitor or a failed power IC, we replace the component rather than the console.
